In short, Metaverse is a concept of a persistent and online universe that will allow users to celebrate, meet, and socialize together in a 3D space. Each user will be controlling a character or avatar which represents him. The idea was once fiction, but now it looks like the new reality of our future. To top things off, couples have started to employ this concept in their wedding ceremonies.

This couple decided on forever in the virtual way in light of the pandemic, as social distancing restrictions were banning traditional wedding gatherings. To still be able to invite and celebrate with all their beloved ones, they finally took the decision: “Let’s make it in the Metaverse.” 

How did it go? The groom worked with a start-up platform to create a castle-like digital space inspired by Hogwarts for the wedding theme. He brought his dream wedding vision to the virtual life.

As for guests, they were able to ramble around and explore the castle and customize their avatar’s appearance and party outfits. Can this get any cooler?! Definitely, YES ! Although the bride's father had passed away, the groom found a way to make him part of the ceremony by creating a 3D avatar that looks like him and had him bless the ceremony. Now that’s something you can only do in the Metaverse! 

Even though the virtual wedding was an illustrious and very convenient idea specially in times when the whole world was isolating, we are currently slowly going back to life as we know it! Would you give up the traditional, face-to-face, full of chaos and love weddings for a virtual one? We believe that nothing can replace the intimacy and romance of a real-life wedding! The preparations and decorations, the flowers and gowns, the nervousness and excitement, the dancing and celebration… all the emotions that come crowding in on that special day cannot be felt in a virtual setting.
