After the news of the engagement of Princess Iman, the eldest daughter of King Abdullah II and Queen Rania, broke the internet by the Royal Hashemite Court on social media, everyone was waiting impatiently for the big day!
The festivities for the royal wedding of Jordan's Princess Iman started with a traditional Henna party ahead of the weekend ceremonies, celebrated with all women of the royal family, friends, and closed ones.
For the occasion, Princess Iman made sure her dress was not only impeccable, but also sentimental with an ode to her mother as a token of appreciation. While she looked regal in a white long-sleeved gown with elaborate embroidery by the Jordanian designer, Reema Dahbour, everyone noticed something special about the belt cinched at her waist. The princess added to her henna look the same white and gold Bruce Oldfield belt embellished with pearls that Queen Rania wore on her wedding day in 1993.
Fast-forward to Sunday, the wedding day, Princess Iman tied the knot with Mr. Jameel Alexander Thermiotis in an elegant religious ceremony at Beit Al Urdon Palace on the outskirts of Amman.
Crown Prince Hussein walked his sister down the aisle, with smiles and grace adorning both their faces. Princess Iman looked breathtakingly regal in a classic bespoke gown by the French fashion house, Dior, featuring a sheer lace panel at the neckline, lace-cuffed sleeves and a flowing skirt complete with a matching sweeping tulle veil. She paired the look with a Chaumet diamond tiara that is reportedly owned by her grandmother Princess Muna Al Hussein.
Queen Rania also opted for an elegantly sophisticated gown by Dior, a long stone-hued dress hailed from the Autumn 2022 Couture collection, complete with floaty sleeves and a Victorian inspired high collar.
The ceremony was decorated with white blossom trees and delicate flowers, and it was broadcasted live and attended by 150 members. Guests at the ceremony included members of the royal family and dignitaries from across the region.
This year will be especially celebratory for the royal family of Jordan as Princess Iman's brother, Crown Prince Hussein is also engaged and set to wed his fiancée, Rajwa Al-Saif, on June 1st.
