Recreating "The Moulin Rouge" in Amman

March 25 . 2022

Love has always been the master in films and movies, even back in the 1980s, when that hopeless romantic poet fell in love with a singer in Moulin Rouge in Paris.

What we’re gonna show you is definitely love, but this is no Paris, this is an epic transformation in the heart of Amman city, precisely in St. Regis Hotel, where the designer pulled inspiration from the movie and brought it to reality for Sulmas and Mohamed’s big day!

When we say this wedding is a full-experience, we mean it, and here's the proof! The hotel was fully reserved for the couple’s guests, where each room was loaded with thank you notes, customized beddings with the couple’s logo, and delicious bites!

As for the wedding ,the entrance featured décor commonly seen during our visits to cabaret theaters shows and movies. A line up of posters that gave us that 1940’s French feel the second we started scanning the visuals!

The Carousel Cabaret was recreated in the foyer room, enriched with black and white patterns, amazing visuals, and perfectly-arranged flowers! We couldn’t get enough of this area, but we had to leave to the powder room for some fixings!

Can we talk about the powder room for a sec? Full on details, Can-can legs on the walls re-enforcing the theme, while distinctive elements here and there filled the room to give us a full-burlesque experience. And that’s not all, every single detail was customized with the couple’s initials! Trust us, no one’s going to get loose by overstressing about their hair or makeup!

Ask us about the reception, and we will instantly admit, it's not for the faint of heart but trust us, you would not want to look away. The mysterious and risqué atmosphere of a cabaret was brought to the space through bold colors, sumptuous red velvet linings, and thematic patterns. All these factors made us reminisce about the lively Montmartre Quarter of Paris!

When it comes to the bridal entrance, Sulmas knew she wanted to stand out and literally "make an entrance", so she made her grand entry on a live performed song, wearing a show-stopper ruffled gown. We get major chills just remembering this exact moment.

Once you’ve witnessed the magical bridal entrance and worn yourself out on the dance floor, what’s left? Well, retro games! If you think games are just for children parties, try again! This wedding had their very own game corner including a boxing arcade machine, table football, and a gumball machine.

The party can’t be complete without some entertainment to liven up the ambience, and this wedding decided to go over-the-top! An epic entertainment show before the groom’s entrance kicked off the start of the celebration, then back-to-back performances and shows kept the party flowing till dawn.

The Lebanese celebrity singer Ragheb Alameh lent the perfect start to the celebration, followed by Pavos Bannout who kept the guests entertained while the bride was changing for her second look. She looked dazzling in an Elie Saab jumpsuit in her second entrance with the groom and singer Hussein El Deek. There was definitely not a dull moment at this party, and guests danced till dawn on Rami Ayash’s dynamic songs.

‘Moulin Rouge’ may have won many Oscars and awards, but one thing is for sure, the couple did win our hearts by offering an amazing theme with great details for brides-to-be!
